Young Africans To Claim Maximum Points At Home

The East African derby takes the centre stage on Sunday when Gor Mahia visit Young Africans in their fourth CAF Confederation Cup group match at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

Kick-off is at 6:00pm.

The Kenyans are fresh from a 4-0 win over their hosts and will be gunning for their second win away from home.

Coach Dylan Kerr’s men have done exceptionally well so far, as they have bagged a massive win last week at home.

Heading to this encounter, they will be in high spirits to bag their second win in the group as they have five points so far.

A win for the Kenyan Premier League champions will see them moving to eight points to cement their spot in the group as they hope to join USM Alger in the next stage.

Coach Kerr will pin his hopes on the likes of Jacques Tuyisenge, Ephram Guikan's brace and Mwinyi Haji to secure a win on the day.

A look at the hosts, Yanga are out to save their dignity as they face Gor despite their poor run in the tournament so far.

The Tanzanians are still licking their wounds following their 4-0 drubbing by the Kenyans last week and will hope to bag a win.

As they occupy the bottom of the table with one point, they are virtually out of the race to reach the knockout stages, but a win will boost their morale.

The East Africans have drawn three matches so far and are yet to win after losing twice to USM Alger and Mahia.

In addition, a worrying issue for the hosts is that they have conceded eight goals and are yet to score in their campaign so far.

Coach Zahera Mwinyi is aware his men are out of the race, but a win in front of their fans will restore their pride.
