He Can't Vote Or Drive, But 11-year-old William Maillis Already Has A Degree

William Maillis is reaching for the stars and with a degree in his pocket he is well on his way to achieve his dreams

- However, what makes him stand out from the other graduates is he is only 11-years-old

- Maillis matriculated when he was only nine, then he went on to enrol at college in 2016

CNN affiliate Bay News 9 reporter Jorja Roman shared Maillis story on her Twitter account.

"William Maillis was the youngest St. Petersburg College graduate to walk across the stage today. At 11 years old, he now has an associate’s degree & is attending USF next month to continue his education. What’s his dream job?" Roman captioned a video of the young boy receiving his degree.

According to a report by CNN, Maillis parents confirmed their son has always been a boy genius- by the age of just two he could do simple maths and at four he already had algebra down.

"Everybody has gifts from God. I was gifted with knowledge and science and history," he was quoted saying. As for what the future holds for the young genius, he plans on taking classes University of South Florida, where he would study towards a astrophysicist qualification.

And, while most kids dream of getting their licenses and finishing high school before the age of 18, Maillis dreams of obtaining his doctorate degree by that age.

Although people are astounded by his amazing intellectual skills, some people believe he should at least get the opportunity to be a child.

Muhammed Hazari commented on Roman's post: "It great he is young and brilliant but sometimes you need to slow things down. He should enjoy being a kid. What’s the rush."
