Speaking before Chelsea's game against Manchester City on Sunday, Antonio Conte gave a touching tribute to Italian defender Davide Astori, who passed away on Sunday morning, aged 31.
Astori has 14 Italy caps and played under Conte during his spell as manager for the 'Azzurri'.
"It is a tragedy and this news has really hit at me and it's very difficult in this moment to find the right words for the family," Conte said.
"I had him with a the national team and it is really difficult at the moment to speak about this tragedy. He was a fantastic guy and a great player but especially a fantastic
"I stay really close to his family in this moment because he was only 31 and it's very difficult to explain the situation for the parents, his wife and his daughter."
Conte joins the rest of the world in paying their respects to the Fiorentina captain.
